The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read. ~ Mark Twain
POLICIES/INFO
Library Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:10 AM - 2:30 PM
CLASS SCHEDULE: Each class attends Library bi-weekly for instruction, to return library books, and to select new books.
CIRCULATION PROCEDURES: Students are allowed to check out two books at a time. If a student has one overdue book, one book will be allowed for check out. If two books are overdue, no additional books can be checked out until the overdue books are returned.
Books are able to be renewed once and then should be returned so that others have the opportunity to read them. Books are due during each library class. Students have the option to return books at any time to the Monster Book Drop located in the hallway just outside of the Library. It's checked at least once daily.
DAMAGED/LOST BOOKS: It's understood that accidents can and do happen. Books damaged while checked out to a student will be accessed by the librarian to determine whether repairs are possible. A replacement fee notice will be sent home if a book's damages are beyond repair. All books are purchased/processed as library bound copies, therefore, it's not suitable for books to be purchased elsewhere and sent in as replacements.
There are no fines charged for overdue books. Often, books are lost in the most obvious places. If a book has been overdue for 30 days, it's considered lost. A notice will be sent home if a student's account reflects a lost book. All books are purchased/processed as library bound copies, therefore, it's not suitable for books to be purchased elsewhere and sent in as replacements.
Please be sure the student's classroom/s, backpack, chair bag, car, room, bookshelf, Daycare, etc. are checked thoroughly prior to paying for a lost book. Please make an extra effort to locate the book prior to making a payment.
PAYMENT: Please send the exact amount of cash (change can't be given) or a check (with phone number included) written out to AES when paying for a damaged/lost book.
REFUNDS: Lost book refunds will not be given. Please make every effort to find a lost book before making the decision to pay for it. If a lost book is found after payment, the book can be kept or the family can choose to donate it back to the Library. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding!
VOLUNTEERS: Parent volunteers with library knowledge/experience are welcome! It's recommended that anyone interested in volunteering contact Miss Gerhardt for more information. Volunteers...
